Dr. Michael Prejean- Psychiatrist and Addictionologist

Dr.Prejean is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Addictionologist overseeing the PPW program at The Ness Center. With a Medical Degree from Louisiana State University and a background in internal medicine, sports medicine, bariatric medicine, psychiatry, and substance abuse, Dr. Prejean brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. His dedication to treating substance abuse dates back to 1983, and he holds ASAM certification along with being a diplomat of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. With a specialization in both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and psychiatric programs, Dr. Prejean is committed to providing personalized and effective care.

Peggy Chun – Children’s Coordinator

Peggy Chun is an experienced mental health professional with a master’s degree in science from Troy University. In her role as the Children’s Coordinator, where she adeptly combines her clinical expertise and wealth of experience to support children and families facing challenges related to parental recovery and substance use disorders. Peggy has a successful track record of helping families in collaboration with organizations such as the Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Children and Family Services.

Alisha Francis, MA, LPC-S, PPW Clinical Director

Alisha Bentley Francis is a dedicated mental health professional and a proud New Orleans native. Alisha earned her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from the University of Holy Cross in 2012. She is pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University, reflecting her commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.

Alisha is licensed as a Professional Counselor in Texas and Louisiana and serves as a board-approved supervisor in Louisiana. With over 25 years of leadership and supervisory experience, she has spent the last two decades working with adolescents and adults. Alisha specializes in solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapies, particularly enjoying the opportunity to support young women in navigating the challenges of young adulthood.

Passionate about empowering her clients, Alisha strives to help individuals find their voice and achieve their personal goals.

Jasmine Jackson, LPN, PPW Lead Nurse

Jasmine Jackson is a dedicated and compassionate nurse at The Ness Center, bringing her expertise in substance use and addiction recovery to those in need. A graduate of Northshore Community College, Jasmine serves as the SAIOP Lead Nurse and PPW Lead Nurse, providing specialized care and support to individuals on their recovery journey. She is deeply committed to patient-centered care and ensures every client feels heard, valued, and supported. Whether guiding individuals through structured treatment or offering encouragement, Jasmine is here to help you take the next step toward healing.

Pam Cook- Care Coordinator/ADL

With a passion for helping women rebuild their lives, Pam Cook is the Women’s Care Coordinator at The Ness Center, providing guidance and support throughout the recovery journey. With a background in education and child development, she brings valuable communication, advocacy, and family support. Pam assists clients with intake scheduling, case management, SNAP and WIC applications, housing resources, and coordinating medical appointments. She also works closely with DCFS case workers and the supervisory team to ensure a seamless, supportive transition for each client. With her warm and welcoming approach, Pam is here to help women rebuild stability, navigate family responsibilities, and confidently move forward.
