Exciting News: New Program to Support Moms and Families

Mandeville, LA – The Ness Center is thrilled to announce the launch of a new program aimed at providing essential support to mothers and families in our community. This groundbreaking initiative is set to make a positive impact on the lives of pregnant and postpartum women facing challenges during this critical period.

Introducing the Pregnant and Postpartum Women’s Residential Treatment Program

The Ness Center is proud to introduce the Pregnant and Postpartum Women’s (PPW) Residential Treatment Program, a program designed to offer critical assistance to pregnant and new mothers as they navigate through challenging times. Our primary focus is on the well-being of both these mothers and their children under the age of 13.

Where and When?

This innovative program is located at 23804 North Robin Road, Mandeville, LA 70448, and we will officially open our doors on December 1, 2023. We are committed to serving residents from across Louisiana, with a particular emphasis in areas including St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes.

Our Goals

Our program aims to assist a minimum of over 200 women and children over the next three years. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in their lives.

Who We’re Here For

The PPW program is specifically designed to support pregnant and postpartum women facing Substance Use Disorders including alcohol and opioid use disorder. In addition, we are committed to treating women holistically offering mental health counseling, and wellness services including child development services.

Community Collaboration

Our program will collaborate with various community stakeholders and providers, including DCFS, Head Start, local schools, Federally Qualified Health Centers, hospitals, community centers of worship including churches, first responders, and other community partners. The aim is to build strong relationships and provide culturally relevant behavioral health and recovery services to strengthen families and save lives in the North Shore.

Our Program’s Goals and Objectives

  • Develop a diverse and robust Steering Committee comprising members representing persons served, family members, individuals with lived experience, licensed mental health professionals, law enforcement, first responders, Managed Care Organization Representatives, and others with expertise in serving the target population.
  • Increase access to residential treatment for specialized populations and the community.
  • Enhance the quality and fidelity of services and combat the stigma associated with Substance Use Disorders.
  • Expand treatment access for the population involved in DCFS.
  • Increase the number of program participants.
  • Reduce health disparities for those receiving services.

A Ray of Hope

This program represents a ray of hope for women and their families who are facing addiction during a particularly vulnerable period in their lives. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where women can embark on their path to recovery while ensuring their children receive the care and support they deserve.
